Job description
We're looking for a Senior Procurement Engineer to lead procurement strategy and stores operations for a fast-growing medical device and robotics startup. You'll own supplier relationships, drive strategic sourcing decisions, manage procurement budgets, and build a high-performing team while ensuring reliable material supply for production.
What You'll Work On
Own procurement strategy for mechanical, electrical, and general engineering materials.
Lead supplier identification, qualification, and long-term negotiation for cost, quality, and reliability.
Manage procurement budgets, cost-savings initiatives, and supplier performance metrics.
Drive make-vs-buy decisions and long-term sourcing plans in partnership with Engineering and Production.
Oversee inventory strategy, stock planning, and material flow to support production scale-up.
Own NCM resolution and supplier corrective action processes in coordination with Quality.
Lead cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Production, QA, and Finance on procurement priorities.
Build, mentor, and manage the procurement and stores team, setting processes and standards.
Drive ERP-based procurement systems, reporting, and audit-ready documentation.
Preferred Background
Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing, with team leadership exposure.
Strong track record in vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and supplier relationship management.
Deep knowledge of engineering materials, ERP-based procurement, and inventory management systems.
Experience in manufacturing, medical devices, robotics, or industrial automation preferred.
Fluency in Kannada, English, and Hindi is preferred.
