Job description

We're looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to develop precision mechanical systems and components for advanced surgical robotic platforms. You'll take end-to-end design ownership, from CAD modeling to manufacturability optimization, working closely with cross-functional teams to build reliable, high-performance products.

What You'll Work On

  • Develop 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar tools.

  • Translate product requirements into manufacturable mechanical designs with cross-functional teams.

  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with design standards.

  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to optimize fit, function, and manufacturability.

  • Coordinate with vendors for material sourcing, fabrication, and quality compliance.

  • Review and improve existing designs to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

  • Lead and participate in design reviews to identify and resolve technical challenges.

  • Manage end-to-end development of mechanical assemblies and subsystems.

  • Support rapid prototyping through 3D printing, machining, and assembly processes.

  • Maintain documentation including drawings, revisions, BOMs, and engineering change records.

Preferred Background

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Design, or related field.

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks).

  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and machine design fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet metal, and assembly.

  • Solid understanding of material properties, stress-strain concepts, and design for manufacturability.

What You'll Gain

  • End-to-end ownership of mechanical design for cutting-edge surgical robotics.

  • Direct collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Hands-on exposure to the full product development cycle, from concept to production.
